TRAVELLING TO / FROM / IN INDONESIA WITH THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Travel Restrictions & Document Requirements

Travel restrictions and document requirements mentioned for each destination below are based on each destination governments/local governments/related authorities regulations and effective until further notice.

All foreigners (WNA) are restricted to enter Indonesian territory or transit within Indonesian territory.

With the following exemptions:

  • Diplomatic / Official Visa
  • Visit Visa
  • Limited Stay Visa (KITAS Visa)
  • Diplomatic / Official Residence Permit card
  • Temporary / Permanent Residence Permit card (KITAS / KITAP)
  • Crew member arriving by their means of transport
  • Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Travel Card (KPP APEC)
  • Traditional Border Crossing Pass

Additional Regulations:

  • PCR Test is required for all passengers of all ages and all passport holders departing from Amsterdam to Indonesia.
  • Mandatory 5 days of quarantine in Jakarta

For Indonesia passport holders:

  • Vaccination not mandatory, but it will be asked upon check-in.  
    If not vaccinated, the passengers will be informed that a vaccination is mandatory after the 5 days of quarantine. 
  • For the age below 12 only PCR test is needed. 

For all foreign passport holders:

  • All passengers with age 12 years and above full dose vaccination is mandatory. 
  • All passengers with age below 12 years only PCR test is needed. 

And with the following regulations for entering/exiting Indonesia:

  1. Foreign nationals leaving the territory of the Republic of Indonesia (without being preceded by domestic travel or direct from Jakarta) are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate.

  2. Foreign nationals under the age of 12 years, travelling with their parents and entering the territory of the Republic of Indonesia or traveling with domestic flights, are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate;

  3. Foreign nationals, who cannot be vaccinated due to medical conditions, are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate, for international and domestic travel, with the additional requirement to show health certificate issued by a doctor (specialist) or other medical supporting data, stating that the person is unfit for COVID-19 vaccination.

  4. Foreign nationals entering the territory of the Republic of Indonesia are required to show a COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate with a completed dose according to the vaccination protocol standard that is issued by the health authorities or pharmaceutical companies that produces the vaccines, and is valid in their respective countries.

  5. Foreign nationals who are active flight crew members or ship crew members who intend to leave the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate, but are required to provide other applicable health protocol requirements.

  6. Foreign nationals who are not vaccinated and intend to leave the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, but need to travel domestically in order to reach the exit point for international flights are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate provided that they do not leave the airport area during transit or waiting for their international flights, with the following requirements:
    • Obtaining clearance issued by the local Port Health Office/Authority to travel domestically, with the purpose to continue their flights to leave Indonesia; and
    • Showing valid flight itinerary leaving Indonesia for direct transit from the city of departure to the exit point for international destination.
       
  7. Foreign nationals over the age of 60 years, teachers and professional educational staff, and foreign nationals of particular professions, can participate in the national vaccination program by submitting their passport and original KITAS/KITAP to the registration offices and local health facilities or vaccination places provided by the central government, regional government, and or state-regional-owned enterprises or other designated locations provided by the Ministry of Health.

  8. Foreign nationals can participate in mutual cooperation vaccination program, by presenting their original passport to the registration office for data collection purposes, at the health facilities of state/regional-owned enterprises or other locations designated by the Ministry of Health.

  9. Officials of Foreign Missions and International Organizations and their family members who are residing outside Jakarta and have received COVID-19 vaccination invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, are encouraged to re-schedule their visit to Jakarta, and await the implementation of the mutual cooperation vaccination program conducted by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in their respective areas.
